Why don't you paint flowers?
I exhibited this collection of collages in the group show Why don't you paint flowers? at Harts Lane Studios in New Cross, London, 11-14th Dec 2015. The show was curated by Antonella Ferrari with works by Antonella, Silvia Forese, Joana Roberto and Angela Wright.

"Masks" series
This collection of collages are about secrecy, seduction, scent, and the association of flowers and botany to the feminine.
A mask is worn to conceal, empower or deceive, often transforming identity and adding layers of story. These works aim to question the female stereotype and pose questions as to why she hides behind such a decorative facade.
Exhibition text reads:
"Ellie Geary works with found images to create delicate hand-cut paper collages. Her works often explore universal themes with strong references to performance and the role of the viewer. This series titled Masks (2014-ongoing) uses female portraits layered with flowers and botanical imagery to address issues of identity and deception."
