Plant Cuttings is a series of collages depicting single-stem flowers and branches set against fragmented backgrounds. By layering and combining
carefully selected found images, I can form new narratives where each setting could be an interior wall or just an imaginary space for quiet contemplation.
Through the act of cutting paper, I am removing the plant’s surrounding information. Like real plant cuttings, it too becomes uprooted from its original location. The image is transformed from an insignificant detail into a symbolic focal point in this new context.
